The Galaxy GateWay Computer System was originally a DialUp Access Bureau in 1984. In it's original form, it was designed to act as a Gate Way to an experiment that I was working on. That was a Computer, which had a large amount of information on a particular subject. The information was Tokenised into related groups and could be queried by standard syntax.

       For instance, you could enter "What is" followed by a sub-topic and the system would respond in a manner where it followed the links and gave a response. To many, this seemed to be an Artificial Intelligence system. To me, it was a "Knowledge Engine", and having coined that term, I've referred to it as such ever since.
